Mega Evolution is a photo book that archives postage stamps. At first glance and when flipping through it quickly, there seems to be nothing unusual about it. However, a keen eye will eventually notice that something about them feels off.
The book Mega Evolution was created with the goal of merging three archives: the archive of stamps and Pokémon cards belonging to Peter Pozník, the archive of photographs owned by Oliver Obert, taken by his grandfather, and my archive of toys. Bringing these worlds together seemed impossible at first — until the authors experienced a Mega Evolution of their own. The archives magically evolved, much like Pokémon, until all their contents took the form of stamps. Similarly, the book itself, as an object, underwent its own final mega evolution. The book block is cut into the shape of a postage stamp, giving it a pleasant tactile and visual effect. Isn't Mega Evolution, at its core, a kind of love story?
